Canada Post will honour the delivery of any mail that comes in with the old or new addressing during the one year grace period. Note : After one year if the customer is still receiving mail with an old mailing address it will be returned to sender. ( February 20th, 2013 ).

Backgrounder
For many years, mail delivery in the area has been performed by using only customer names and rural route numbers or a combination of rural route numbers and civic addressing.
Starting FEBRUARY 20, 2012 Canada Post will discontinue the use of rural route numbers in the area and will officially implement the use of civic (911) addresses for mail delivery. This change will also include the use of the official municipality name assigned to your address instead of the municipality name you are currently using.
Please notify your correspondents of your new address as of the effective date (most businesses will not accept your address change, by telephone or online, if notification is done prior to the effective date).
To assist with this change, Canada Post will forward mail bearing your old address to you for one year. Canada Post will provide customers with postage-paid Change of Address cards to complete and send to your correspondents (additional cards are available at your local Post Office).
Canada Post apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks you for your assistance during this transition.
